The Flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr, Mahamudu Bawumia, has called on party members to forgive one another for grievances due to the recent campaign season, underscoring the importance of unity for the future of the party.
Addressing party members at the National Thanksgiving Service in the University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA) on Sunday, February 15, 2026, Dr. Bawumia appealed to party members to neglect any offence caused by heated campaign rivalry
“On this day as we celebrate and give thanks together, I want to ask all of us, from the bottom of my heart, that we forgive each other for some of the unpalatable things we may have said during the campaign” he stated
Dr. Bawumia emphasized that reconciliation remains crucial as the NPP focus on future endeavors and the 2028 general elections
This is after the recent NPP presidential primaries which was keenly contested between Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, Bryan Acheampong , Ken Ohene Agyapong, Yaw Osei Adutwun and Kwabena Agyei Agyepong in which Dr Mahamudu Bawumia won.
