The National Service Authority (NSA) has reaffirmed its commitment to the prompt payment of allowances to National Service Personnel, assuring stakeholders that outstanding arrears will be cleared by the close of this week.
In a press release dated February 17, 2026, the Authority said concrete steps are being taken to expedite payments owed to legitimately verified service personnel.
Management acknowledged the critical role allowances play in supporting personnel throughout their service year and stressed that every service person deserves timely access to their stipends.
According to the NSA, funds covering two months of allowances were advanced last week by the Controller and Accountant-General’s Department (CAGD) for disbursement. However, the Authority explained that the delay in actual payments is due to an ongoing verification process being conducted by the Ghana Interbank Payment and Settlement Systems Limited (GhIPSS) to ensure accuracy and financial integrity before final disbursement.
Management expressed appreciation for the patience and resilience shown by service personnel during the delay, noting that their contribution to national development remains deeply valued.
The NSA further assured that all verified and legitimate arrears are expected to be fully paid by the end of the week and pledged to keep personnel informed through its official communication channels.
The latest assurance from the NSA is expected to ease tensions among service personnel nationwide, many of whom have been awaiting clarity on when outstanding payments will reflect in their accounts.
