The Ghana Gold Board (GoldBod) has issued compliance notice No. GOLDBOD/2026/04, cautioning gold buying licensees who have failed to meet their mandatory reporting obligations under the terms of their licences.
According to the Compliance Directorate of GoldBod, the Board’s attention has been drawn to instances where some licensees have not complied with requirements to submit monthly transaction reports detailing their operations.
The regulator reminded all gold buying licensees that they are mandated to prepare and submit monthly reports capturing daily gold purchases, including quantities, purity levels, value, and other relevant activities undertaken during the reporting period.
GoldBod emphasized that these reports must be filed within 15 days after the end of each month. Consequently, licensees were expected to submit their transaction reports for January 2026 no later than February 15, 2026.
The Board warned that failure to comply with any term or condition of a licence constitutes grounds for revocation and is considered an offence under Section 63 of the Ghana Gold Board Act, 2025.
Reaffirming its commitment to accountability and transparency in the gold trading sector, GoldBod stated that it will continue to enforce the laws and regulations governing gold trading to ensure strict compliance across the industry.
The notice was signed by the Compliance Directorate of the Ghana Gold Board.
