The Ghanaian Times calls for a trouble free Hajj Pilgrimage. The paper lauds the process so far saying it does not doubt the competence of the Hajj board to deliver a hitch free process. The Times holds the view that proper planning is key to achieving a set goal adding that though the assignment given the board requires a lot of resources it is asking it to be guided by the spirit of sacrifice and deliver on its mandate.
The Daily Graphic urges the public not to abandon local banks in the wake of what is currently happening in the banking sector. It says it is unfortunate the Bank of Ghana had to crack the whip to sanitise what was most likely to bring the entire sector and the economy to its knees. The Graphic says though it is necessary that customers ensure the safety of their deposits and investments, it is worrying they are resorting to moving their funds from local banks to foreign ones. This, the Graphic says, does not augur well for the remaining 13 local banks including the newly established Consolidated Bank.
