Ghana Anti-Doping Agency (GADA) on Tuesday, March 31, 2026 gathered sports leaders at the Alisa Hotel in Accra for a pivotal consultative meeting, championing integrity and fairness across Ghanaian sports.
Stakeholders from the sports sector, administrators, athletes, media, and Ministry agencies dissected the draft Ghana Anti-Doping Regulations.
Chief Director Mrs. Wilhelmina Asamoah represented Minister for Sports and Recreation, Kofi Iddie Adams, underscoring how these regulations will activate Ghana’s vow to clean sport and match international norms.
She pointed to the Ghana Anti-Doping Act, 2024 (Act 1116), which birthed GADA as the key regulator for anti-doping in every sports discipline.
The drafts, she said, deliver on commitments to the UNESCO International Convention Against Doping in Sport and the World Anti-Doping Code.
“These regulations will provide the legal and procedural framework necessary for athlete testing, result management, education programs, sanctions, and protection of athletes’ rights,” Mrs. Asamoah declared, hailing the forum as “timely and essential” for stakeholder input on a robust, Ghana-specific regime.
