Ghana’s U‑15 girls’ national team, the Black Damsels, have kicked off their defense of the CAF African Schools Football Championship title in dominant fashion on Monday April 6 2026, defeating Guinea 6‑0 in their opening Group B match.

The tournament is held from 6–10 April 2026 at Gateway High School in Harare, Zimbabwe. It brings together top school-level football teams from across Africa to compete for the continental championship.

The Ghana women’s national U-15 team entered the competition as defending champions, having lifted the trophy in 2025.

The group stage sees Ghana drawn alongside Guinea, Tanzania, and Burkina Faso, with the top two teams advancing to the semi-finals. Following this opening win, the Black Damsels will face Tanzania in their next fixture.

The CAF African Schools Football Championship is designed not only to showcase young football talent but also to promote education, teamwork, and development opportunities for youth across Africa.

For the Black Damsels, success in the tournament reinforces Ghana’s strong reputation in youth women’s football and offers a platform for emerging players to shine.

The competition continues to be broadcast across the Confederation of African Football (CAF) TV platforms.
