The Driver and Vehicle Licensing Authority (DVLA) has announced the commencement of extended working hours across selected offices nationwide, effective Monday, May 4, 2026.

The move forms part of efforts to enhance service delivery, improve public access, and align with government’s broader 24-hour economy agenda.

Under the new arrangement, DVLA offices in Weija, Tema, Bolgatanga, Wa, Tamale, Takoradi, Cape Coast, Koforidua, Sunyani, Ho, Techiman, Kumasi, Winneba, Tarkwa, and Nwaman will operate up to 10:00 p.m. daily. The Authority says the initiative is intended to provide greater flexibility for clients who may be unable to access services during regular working hours.

In a statement, the DVLA indicated that the extended hours will also help reduce congestion at service centres and minimise the activities of middlemen, ensuring a more efficient and transparent service experience.

The Authority has therefore encouraged the public to take full advantage of the new schedule to access services directly at DVLA offices.

The DVLA reaffirmed its commitment to improving customer experience and delivering safe, efficient, and accessible services to the public.

The Driver and Vehicle Licensing Authority further indicated that all payments made after 5:00 p.m. at the selected offices will be restricted to electronic payment options.

The Authority appealed to the public to cooperate as it works to fully operationalise a 24-hour service framework across these centres.
