Nana Oye Bampoe Addo has led Ghana’s delegation to the 17th Session of the United Nations Convention Against Corruption (UNCAC) held in Vienna, Austria, reaffirming Ghana’s commitment to strengthening transparency, accountability, and ethical governance.
The Ghanaian delegation included the Presidential Advisor on the Anti-Corruption Programme, Prof. Francis Dodoo; the Commissioner of the Commission on Human Rights and Administrative Justice (CHRAJ), Joseph Whittal; the Special Prosecutor; and Lady Justice Amaleboba.
Delivering Ghana’s national statement at the high-level session, Hon. Nana Oye Bampoe Addo highlighted the anti-corruption efforts being undertaken by government under President John Dramani Mahama and updated delegates on the implementation status of the Operation Recover All Loot (ORAL) initiative.
She further outlined several interventions aimed at strengthening Ghana’s anti-corruption architecture, particularly through youth engagement and institutional collaboration. These included the Youth Against Corruption (YAC) initiative by the Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP), the activities of Corruption Education Clubs (CECs), as well as ongoing investments in capacity-building, research, data systems, and international partnerships.
Hon. Nana Oye Bampoe Addo also acknowledged some of the challenges confronting anti-corruption efforts globally and stressed the need for sustained cooperation among governments, institutions, and citizens.
A major highlight of Ghana’s presentation was the announcement that the country has finalised the National Ethics and Anti-Corruption Action Plan (NEACAP 2026–2030), described as a rejuvenated national ethics and anti-corruption framework.
According to her, the framework is expected to be submitted to Cabinet for approval.
The UNCAC Session brought together member states, governance experts, anti-corruption institutions, and policymakers from across the world to review progress and strengthen international cooperation in the global fight against corruption.
Hon. Nana Oye Bampoe Addo’s participation and leadership at the Session underscored Ghana’s renewed commitment to integrity, accountability, and ethical public governance on the international stage.
