Government's policy to privatise public basic schools not feasible – Educationist

The lack of adequate resources and accountability are some of the reasons for which basic schools are not doing well as expected.

A former Director General of the Ghana Education Service, Aheto Tsegah said government’s plan to privatise some public schools is not feasible and will not work.

In an interview with GBC’s Radio Ghana, Mr. Tsegah said government needs to clearly explain the policy. He was reacting to government’s policy to privatise some public basic schools in the country.

Mr. Aheto Tsegah asked government to adequately resource public schools in the country to enhance teaching and learning. This, will bring out the best in both teachers and school children.
