As Ghana joins the world to celebrate World Kidney Day, the public has been advised to undergo regular checkup of the kidney at least once a year.

Speaking to GBC’s Radio Ghana, the Resident Medical Doctor at GBC Clinic, Dr. Jude Adomako, said that this will aid in the early detection of any kidney malfunction and treatment to avoid deterioration and untimely death.

Dr. Adomako cited excessive intake of alcohol and drug abuse, obesity, aging as well as hypertension and diabetes as some of the causes of the kidney disease.
