People with tuberculosis can now use their National Health Insurance (NHIS) card to access treatment at any public health facility.
Also the Ministry of Health and Civil Society Organisations are implementing TB preventive treatment for vulnerable people, especially those with HIV.
These are to ensure that people who are already receiving free TB treatment also get comprehensive health care delivery to reduce the death rate among TB patients.
The Director of Technical Coordination, Ghana Health Service Dr. Mrs. Martha Gyansa Lutterodt announced this in Accra at the launch of the 2019 World TB Day.
