The Graphic hails the IPAC Meeting held at the EC and hopes all political parties will co-operate with the election management body to ensure that meetings between the two groups are not undermined.  It says IPAC has played important roles and chalked up some successes in election management, but one difficulty is how to build sustained goodwill, trust and confidence in the electoral process. The paper is of the view that since the new team at the EC will superintend over all processes leading to the 2020 elections, efforts must be made to do away with any situation that will bring about mistrust, suspicion and division.

The Ghanaian Times says the health sector has made steady progress over the years but challenges such as geographical imbalance in access to quality care and inequitable distribution of critical staff still exist. It is in this regard that the paper appeals to the authorities to give attention to the concerns of Physician Assistants who have complained about their conditions of service and lack of career development programmes. The Times says if this is done, the Physician Assistants would be motivated enough to continue to render services towards achieving the SDG’s.

The Today Newspaper lauds the role being played by the media in enlightening the people on political economic and social issues. It however notes that there are many gaps in these functions as the media are not able to follow through on stories and thus leave the public in the dark. The paper says sometimes stories do not give the public the benefit of deep insights. It is in this light that the paper instituted the Today Lecture Series five years ago. It says this year’s lecture to be held today will examine prospects and challenges of the Mobile Economy in Ghana.
