The Auditor General, Daniel Domelevo has hinted that the Audit Service will soon surcharge Heads of Departments in Public Institutions who have oversight responsibility to help eliminate ghost names from the public payroll.

Speaking at the Occupy Ghana verses Attorney General Anniversary Lectures in Accra, Mr Domelevo said the Audit Service has began measures to rid the public payroll of non existing names, adding that those found culpable will be surcharged to serve as a deterrent to others.

Mr Domelevo also called for a separation of Internal Auditors from Ministries, Departments and Agencies.
