The First African Regional Data Protection and Privacy Conference has opened in Accra.
At the event, the Minister of Development and Planning Dr. Djan Baffour said data protection has become important in the digital environment.
Dr. Baffour said it has become the bedrock of every country’s development.
He said amidst its challenges, data has provided enormous work opportunities for many people.
Dr. Baffour pointed out that data protection regulations will ensure that citizens and companies are protected against data leakages.
