A lecture will be held today at the Economics Department of the University of Ghana as part of activities to commemorate the first anniversary of the passing of Former Vice President Kwesi Bekoe Amissah-Arthur, who was one time a Senior Lecturer at the Economics Department of the University.
The lecture will be delivered by a Former Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Prof. Charles Soludo, with the UN Secretary General’s Representative to West Africa and the Sahel, Dr Mohammed Ibn Chambas, as Chairman.
June 24, a library was inaugurated in the late Vice President’s honour at Ohawu in the Volta Region.
According to a one-year commemorative programme, donations in the name of the late Vice President Amissah Arthur are to be made to the Moree Senior High School and the Moree Hospital in the Central Region.
The immediate Past Vice President died on June 29, last year when he collapsed during a morning workout at a gym at the Burma Camp in Accra.
The anniversary will be climaxed tomorrow, June 29 with a remembrance service at the Calvary Methodist Church, Accra at 9 a.m.
