The drudgery of rural women farmers to cart farm produce to and from the farms and to marketing centers will soon be a thing of the past.
The World Food Programme in partnership with the Savanna Agricultural Research Institute (SARI) and the Upper East Regional Agricultural Directorate have inaugurated a pilot Donkey Cart Transportation Project for the people of Bawku.
The project forms part of efforts to offer simple labour-saving technologies which can help women farmers reduce post-harvest loses and access to markets.
