About 500 farmers at Piiyiri in the Jirapa Municipality of the Upper West Region can now do effective all year round farming without much difficulty.
This is because 50 of the 100 acre irrigable area of Piiyiri dam have been developed.
The dam which was constructed by Export Development and Agricultural Investment Fund, EDAIF in collaboration with Irrigation Authority and the Jirapa Municipal Assembly has well developed canals and pumping machines to facilitate the use of the dam.
The MCE for Jirapa, Christine Amadu, stated this when the Municipality took its turn at the meet the press series at Jirapa.
