The Auditor General, (AG), has indicted various entities in the petroleum sector for failing to make statutory payment as required by section 3(2) of Act 815 of the petroleum law to be made into the Petroleum Holding Funds.
The Auditor General, Daniel Yaw Domelevo, in its 2018, report on the management of petroleum funds indicated that as of December 2017 a total of 220 point 64 million dollars was outstanding to be paid by various entities into the Petroleum Holding Funds.
Out of the amount 219 point 53 million dollars represent amount due from Ghana Gas Company for gas sold to the Ghana National Petroleum Corporation, (GNPC).
And one point 11 million dollars surface rental fees unpaid by the various entities in the petroleum sector.
Auditor General has therefore recommended that monies due for the funds should be collected promptly.
However, in response management of the GNGC said Ghana National Gas Company ltd failed to the 230 million dollars own the GNPC because the Volta River Authority defaulted in paying for gas GNGC supplied to them to run it thermal plants.
