National Coordinator of the West African Network for Peacebuilding (WANEP), Albert Yelyang, says the media owe it an obligation to set an agenda for peace as the country inches towards General Election in 2020.

He said peace and development are intertwined and therefore any nation that yearns for development must put in place mechanisms for peace to thrive.

Speaking in an interview with GBC’s Radio Ghana on the sidelines of a training workshop on conflict sensitivity in Reporting and Peacebuilding in Kumasi, Mr. Yelyang said it is about time the media built its capacity to guide the operations of its personnel.
