Chairman of Ghana Education Service (GES) Council, Micheal Nsowah says the GES admits that the capitation grant allocated for public basic schools is inadequate.

He said calls by the public for an increase in the grant is in the right direction.

In an interview with GBC’s Radio Ghana, Mr. Nsowah said there is the need for a review of the existing grant and this will have to be approved by the Ministry of Finance.

Mr. Nsowah said the District Assemblies need to resource and support the schools for effective management.
