Government sad over sudden turn of events in Takoradi missing girls saga

Government has described as sad and heart breaking, the Police DNA report confirming the death of the four Takoradi missing girls.

Minister of Information, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah, said government didn’t expect this outcome and is therefore very disturbed by the outcome.

At a media briefing in Accra, Mr Oppong Nkrumah extended government’s heartfelt condolences to the families and said government will offer support in any way it can.

“I think it’s heartbreaking to receive this news which is contrary to all our best hopes as a country. Obviously, it’s a shocking moment first for the families and to the nation at large.”

He said President Akufo-Addo has extended his condolences and pledged support to the grieving families.

“Government through the president has had the opportunity to express condolences to the families directly, and we’ll continue to engage and provide the families with the necessary support even at this stage, that it is a heartbreaking and a painful moment for us as a country.”

He pledged government’s commitment to ensuring justice and get the persons behind the death of the four Takoradi girls and put them before the law court.
