Uganda’s Health Minister Sarah Opendi has urged people who used a batch of Life Guard condoms recalled last month for being faulty to get tested for sexually transmitted diseases (STDs).

She said two batches off about one million condoms of the brand distributed by health charity Marie Stopes, were the ones affected.

The minister said the company had managed to recover about 850 thousand condoms of that number.

Ms Opendi said there was no shortage of condoms in the country adding that the government also supplies them.
