The Ghanaian Times associates itself with the campaign for the speedy passage of the Right to Information Bill. The paper believes the RTI law in Ghana would help boost investor confidence in the country for rapid socio-economic development. It therefore urges Parliament to hasten the passage of the bill into law. The Times commends government’s efforts as well as the work of Parliament and Civil Society Organisations for how far the bill has come and hopes there will be no setbacks at this stage.
The Daily Graphic is happy that measures have been put in place to increase the quantity of cocoa beans processed to 300 hundred thousand tonnes. The paper says this will not only help realize the President’s vision of processing 50 percent of cocoa but also rake in more revenue for national development. The Graphic commends COCOBOD for its efforts and urged the board to be inspired to do more by the current success. This, the paper feels will raise the value of Cocoa Production as well as create employment for the teeming youth in the country.
