Renowned Ghanaian artist and Guinness World Record holder for the largest leaf-print painting, Sharon Dede Padi, has launched the Padiki Golden Stool Arts Foundation to promote arts education and cultural heritage in Ghana.

The foundation, launched today, February 19, in Accra, aims to strengthen arts education initiatives while showcasing Ghanaian culture on the global stage.

Sharon Dede Padi, who recently broke the Guinness World Record for the largest leaf-print painting, measuring 54.33 square metres, expressed her vision for the foundation, stating: “Let us continue together to build a lasting legacy for our nation.”

She expressed gratitude to the Ministry of Education, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture, and UNESCO for their support throughout the journey.

The Padiki Golden Stool Arts Foundation will undertake local and international exhibitions showcasing various art forms and cultural expressions to promote Ghanaian heritage globally. Padi emphasised the importance of projecting Ghanaian culture on the world stage, saying: “I will undertake both local and international exhibitions showcasing different arts and other cultural expressions, positioning Ghanaian heritage prominently on the global stage.”

As the founder and CEO of Padiki Art Gallery, Padi has consistently championed African art, cultural heritage, and women’s empowerment. Her achievement has put Ghana on the global art map, inspiring young artists to pursue creativity, innovation, and excellence
