Dr Bawumia Mourns Highlife Legend Daddy Lumba

Former Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has expressed deep sorrow over the passing of Ghanaian highlife legend Charles Kwadwo Fosu, popularly known as Daddy Lumba.

In a heartfelt message, Dr. Bawumia described Daddy Lumba as “a true music icon” whose remarkable career spanned over three decades. He acknowledged the late musician’s immense contribution to Ghana’s highlife genre and his role in nurturing and introducing several music talents.

“His brilliant compositions and works have not only entertained but also inspired and uplifted many of us,” the former Vice President stated. “His passing is indeed a huge blow, not only to the music fraternity but to the entire country.”

Dr. Bawumia, together with his wife Samira, extended their condolences to Daddy Lumba’s family, fans, and the nation at large, ending his tribute with the words: “LEGEND, REST WELL.”

Daddy Lumba’s death marks the end of an era in Ghanaian music, but his legacy will live on through his timeless songs.
