First Lady Mrs. Akufo-Addo inaugurates historical museum in Western Region

Ghana’s First Lady, Mrs. Rebecca Akufo-Addo, has inaugurated the Bisa Abrewa Museum at Nkontompo in the Western Region.

The Museum is the first of its kind in the country, to ensure the right information about the rich history of Ghana and by extension Africa, is broadcast to tourists who visit the country for research.

Bisa Abrewa is the initiative of 78 year old award winning Ghanaian film-maker, Kwaw Ansah.

The museum which is located at Nkontompo in the Western Region, houses one of the world’s largest private collections of artefacts, Scuplture and audio visual representations Mrs. Akufo-Addo commended Kwaw Ansah for such an initiative.

She said Africa has a story to tell. The museum is a story of the uniqueness of the identity and heritage of the African people home and abroad.

Mrs. Akufo-Addo called on coporate bodies, financial institutions that have passion for history to support the development to promote the tourism sector of the economy.
