Ghanaian highlife musician Akwasi Poku Addie, widely known as Kwaisey Pee, appeared on the GTV Breakfast Show on December 9, 2025, to reflect on his 25-year journey in music, his sources of inspiration and his growing commitment to supporting children with cancer. He was joined by team member Mark 2, who spoke about their upcoming charitable activities.
Kwaisey Pee, who has maintained a career spanning two and a half decades, said discipline and focus have played a key role in keeping him relevant and energised in the industry.
“It’s focus and discipline. I try to keep myself in good shape. That’s been my stronghold,” he said, adding that his strong vocal ability is a natural gift from God.
Reflecting on his career highlights, he described his performance at the Legends and Legacy Ball alongside Kofi B and K.K. Kabobo as one of his most unforgettable moments, noting the excitement and connection with fans during live performances.
Despite his success, he acknowledged that the journey has come with challenges, saying they have been “a lot”. He promised to return to the programme to share more insights in the future.
Kwaisey Pee also announced his upcoming album titled Egyaba, which will feature 12 songs. He credited his growth to the influence of his father, whose musical legacy he says he continues to uphold.
Mark 2, who has worked with the musician for three years, praised his discipline and work ethic but noted that working with him requires patience. He added that the team is preparing a major charity project aimed at supporting children with cancer and brain tumours.
“If you help someone to be healed, you receive blessings too,” he said, adding that Kwaisey Pee has a strong passion for children and is determined to use his platform to make a difference.
Ahead of a charity event on December 25, 2025, at the ICON Event Center, the team outlined Pre-event activities including a clean-up exercise at the Bukom Boxing Arena, a football gala between musicians and media teams, and other engagements aimed at raising funds. Part of the proceeds, they said, will go towards supporting children battling cancer.
Mark 2 encouraged the public to participate, support the cause and help bring hope to children facing life-threatening illnesses.
