Mr. Ibu to be buried June 28

Veteran Nigerian actor Mr. Ibu, also known as John Okafor, will be laid to rest on June 28, 2024, according to a statement released by the family spokesperson.

The late will be buried in his hometown Amuri, in Nkanu West Local Government Area of Enugu State.

The family made it known that funeral rites will be a five-day affair with other events held days before the burial.

The five-day ceremony will end on Sunday, June 30, with a thanksgiving service in church for family members, friends and well-wishers.

His acting career began in December 3, 1978 when he started as a Continuity in movies. Some of his movies include Ibu (2004), Mr. Ibu 2 (2005), Mr. Ibu and His Son, Coffin Producers, Husband Suppliers, International Players, Store Keeper (2006), Issakaba (1999), Mr. Ibu in London(2005), Police Recruit (2003), Bafana Bafana (2007), 9Wives (2005), Ibu in Prison (2006), and Keziah(2007).

The family extended an invitation for all sympathisers and friends to join them in celebrating their son, husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and in-law on the designated date, June 28, 2024.

Mr. Ibu passed away last month at the age of 62 while undergoing treatment in the hospital.
