Ghanaian musician Raphael Camidoh Kofi Attachie, known in the music industry as Camidoh, has spoken about the challenges of forming genuine friendships in the music industry.

In an interview on Hitz FM today, he said most relationships in the industry are not genuine, advising artists to keep to themselves due to what he described as “phony attitudes”.

“I don’t hang out a lot because there is a lot of phony attitude in the industry,” he said.

Camidoh revealed that he does not socialise much, preferring to maintain a low profile. He said he is content with having a small circle of genuine friends, citing fellow artist Stonebwoy as a loyal supporter who often refers shows to him when he is unavailable.

“Stonebwoy relays shows to me when he knows he wouldn’t be able to make it. He’s a brother and has been very good to me,” he said.

The “Sugarcane” hitmaker’s comments highlight the difficulties of navigating relationships in the entertainment industry, where interests and motivations can often be mixed.
