Tourism Minister inaugurates National Folklore Board

The Minister for Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts, Abla Dzifa Gomashie, has inaugurated a new governing board for the National Folklore Board and commended President Mahama for appointing what she described as a capable team to lead the institution.

At the inauguration ceremony held at the Ministry in Accra, Mrs. Gomashie urged board members to provide strategic leadership, policy direction and effective oversight to strengthen the institution and support the protection and development of Ghana’s folklore sector.

She emphasised the important role of the board in safeguarding the country’s cultural expressions and promoting Ghana’s rich folklore heritage.

The newly appointed chairperson, Hajara Lydia Daniel, pledged on behalf of the members to work collaboratively to reposition the institution and advance its mandate of preserving and promoting Ghana’s cultural heritage.

Other members of the board are Felix Yaw Adjavor, William Akwetey Bonsu, Alpohose Kumaza, Ohenewaa Moreaux Kumi-Kyereme, Nii Adokwei Moffatt, Sedinam Armah Matanawui, Bernard Kofi Amarble and Gayheart Mawuli Mesiotso.
