The Finance Minister, Ken Ofori-Atta, says Government has set up funds at the Bank of Ghana (BOG) to settle all claims of defunct DKM Diamond Microfinance depositors in the Brong Ahafo Region.
The Finance Minister noted that about 80% of claims have been paid and the remaining 20% will be paid to depositors upon validation.
“…I will like to inform the country that out of the 99,858 claims, 79,708 (representing 80%) have been settled and depositors have been paid” Mr. Ofori Atta stated.
The Finance Minister said this while delivering the 2019 Budget Statement in Parliament today (November 15).
The Finance Minister, Mr Ofori-Atta disclosed that the official liquidator — the Registrar General’s Department, received 99,858 claims out of which it validated 79,708 and paid out GH₵502 million.
