The First Lady of the United States of America, Mrs Melania Trump, has arrived in Ghana to begin a four-country tour of Africa. The Boeing 757 Presidential Jet carrying Mrs Trump’s touched down at the Kotoka International Airport at exactly 10:06 am on Tuesday.
She was met on arrival by the First lady of Ghana, Rebecca Akufo-Addo and other government officials with a group of schoolchildren waving the US and the Ghanaian flag.
Mrs. Trump will visit a hospital neonatal intensive care unit before going to the presidential palace to meet with President Akufo-Addo. She will also visit other child health facilities, orphanages and meet caregivers.
Mrs Melania Trump will leave Ghana on October 4 and visit Malawi, Kenya and Egypt, to promote her ‘Be Best’ campaign
, which she launched in May 2018.
Mrs Trump announced her visit at a reception for spouses of world leaders, held on the sidelines of the 73rd United Nations General Assembly, in New York.
The visit is being organised by the United States Aid Agency (USAID) and will involve three other countries, before returning to Washington early on October 7.

Melania Trump until she got married was called Melania Knavs. She was born in Novo Mesto, Slovenia then part of Yugoslvia on the 26th of April 1970. At eighteen, she signed a contract with a modeling agency in Milan. She later enrolled at the University of Ljubjana to study designing. To channel her efforts completely towards a modelling career, she dropped the course after a year. She also worked for some time in Paris and Milan.
In 1996, Melania moved to New York where she became a successful model and received many projects with photographers. She later got a green card for her contribution in the field of modeling. She became an American citizen in 2006. She later competed in Miss USA in 2003 and Donald Trump`s reality show “Celebrity Apprentice” in 2004.
Melania and President Trump met at a fashion party in New York City in September 1998. Being single, Trump entered into a serious relationship with her. she was in the company of Mr. Trump for a few campaigns like the Reform Party Presidential nomination in 2000.
They got engaged in 2004 and finally married in January 22, 2005. On 20th March 2006, Melania gave birth to a son, Barron William Trump. She is the 3rd wife of President Trump and the step mother of 3 children.
Melania Trump is a multi-linguist with good command over Slovene, English, German, French, Italian and Serbo-Croation. She was embroiled in a controversy regarding her degree in architecture and design from the University of Ljubjana.
Melania Trump has her own label of designer watches, jewellery and skin care products.
