Afadzato South MP supports Ho Prison with items worth over GHc 60,000

Member of Parliament for Afadzato South in the Region Volta Region Angela Oforiwa Alorwu-Tay, has donated items worth over Sixty Thousand Ghana Cedis (GHc 60, 000) to the infirmary of the Ho Medium Security Prison.

Presenting the items, The MP said she was moved by the deplorable condition in which men and women in uniform work at the Prison and “I am also deeply touched by the issues that confront the prisoners in this prison”.

According to her, “it has become very necessary for all of us to come on board to give our brothers and sisters in prison and the prison service the necessary support it deserves so as to ensure that the core mandate of the service to reform is achieved”.

Things presented include: Adult Hospital beds with mattress, Wheel chair, Suction machine, Child scale, Autoclave, Glucometer, Drip stand, Galipot, Oxygen, Adult scale, Nebulizinf machine and Pulse oximeter.

The rest are: Digital thermometer, Infrared thermometer, Stethoscope, Ascon BP, Digital Sphygmomanometer, Diagnostic set, Haemoglobin monitor, Screens, Kidney dish, Oxygen concentrator, Cylinder with regulator, Trolley, Bedside locker, Sterilizer and Microscope.

Madam Angela who presented the item to mark her 5oth anniversary promises to devote herself “as a vanguard and an ambassador not only to Ho Prison but to the numerous prisons across the country”.

The MP reiterated her position to pay particular attention to female wards in the prisons nationwide.

She was however, grateful to colleague members of Parliament who contributed generously towards the project.
