Nene Sakite advised Nene Tagbaja to collaborate effectively with his people to help promote peace, development, and unity in the area.

The Eastern Regional Minister, Rita Akosua Adjei Awatey, speaking during the coronation commended the kingmakers, elders, and the people of Asesewa for the peaceful and dignified process that led to the installation of the new Chief. She hinted that the theme, “Uniting the People for Sustainable Development,” was timely and aligned with the national development agenda.

She emphasized that development cannot be achieved by government alone, and that communities must take ownership.

The newly outdoored Asesewa Divisional Chief, Nene Ofei Tagbaja noted that he will work together with his people to help promote the development Asesewa requires. He noted that as a farmer, he will work to improve the livelihood of farmers in the Asesewa division of the Manya Krobo Traditional Area.

Nene Tagbaja known in private life as Isaac Ofei Baah, is an Information Services Department staff and Public Relations Officer at the Ministry of Health. He succeeds his uncle, Ofei Bosso, who reigned for 34 years and passed away in 1956.

Since then, Asesewa had remained an orphan town without a substantive chief. Nene Ofei Tagbaja’s enstoolment makes him the first Divisional Chief of Asesewa under the Manya Krobo Paramountcy, following the elevation of Asesewa to divisional status by the Traditional Council, led by the Konor of the area, Nene Sakite.

The Manya Krobo Paramountcy used to have six divisions which includes Manya, Dɔm, Piengua, Suisi, Akweno and Djebiam, and now Asesewa making it seven divisions.

The coronation was attended by politicians, government appointees, religious leaders, and public and private sector workers.
