DVLA introduces new prefixes for 2020 vehicle registration

The Driver and Vehicle Licensing Authority, DVLA has introduced new prefixes for the registration of vehicles.

The new license plate prefixes are AK, for Bekwai-Ashanti, AP, for Mampong- Ashanti, AC, for Obuasi and BT, for Techiman.

The rest are BW, Wenchi, EN, Nkawkaw, ES, Somanya VD, Denu and WT, Tarkwa.

Manager, Public Relations of the DVLA, Francis Asamoah Tuffour told GBC’s Radio Ghana that the move forms part of measures to reduce congestion at its offices especially at the turn of a New Year.

Addressing cases of viral photos of different cars with the same vehicle registration number plates, Mr Tuffour asked Ghanaians to avoid hasty conclusions as investigations are still ongoing.

He said results of the investigations will be made public in less than a week.
