In a bid to promote quality education and empower brilliant but underprivileged students, Mr Winston Yeboah Danso, founder of the East Legon Football Academy (ELFA), has donated essential educational materials to Harrison’s Mizpah Academy in Akyem Saamang, Eastern Region.
Known for his philanthropic initiatives, Mr Yeboah Danso’s charitable efforts often extend beyond sports, focusing on education and other programmes aimed at empowering the next generation.
The donation comes at a crucial time to support graduates of the school who excelled in the just-ended Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE), securing the best grades in the district. Items presented included stationery, school bags, scientific calculators, and other essential learning tools.
Harrison’s Mizpah Academy, a mission-based institution, provides education from crèche to junior high school. Guided by the motto “Knowledge and Integrity,” the school emphasises discipline, academic excellence, Christian values, and holistic development.

Receiving the items on behalf of the school, Headmaster Pastor Eric Antwi expressed profound gratitude to Mr Yeboah Danso for his generosity, noting that this was not the first time the school had benefited from his support. He praised him for going the extra mile to assist students in a remote community, stressing that the gesture would boost teaching and learning while inspiring hope.
Mr Yeboah Danso, who founded the East Legon Football Academy in 2019, said he was deeply impressed by the outstanding performance of the students in the BECE. He emphasised that investing in education and supporting the underprivileged are crucial to transforming the status quo in Ghana.

“Education and talent development are causes I’ve dedicated myself to supporting over the years,” he said. “I believe in nurturing talent, whether in academics or football, and I encourage more individuals and organisations to join hands in uplifting less privileged communities.”
Since its establishment, the East Legon Football Academy has gained recognition both locally and internationally. The academy has competed in Denmark’s prestigious Dana Cup three times, winning two trophies.
Beyond football, Mr Yeboah Danso has consistently supported players and young people facing financial or personal challenges, ensuring equal opportunities for growth and development.
