Fire guts 13-bedroom house at Dobile

Fire has gutted a thirteen-bedroom house at Dobile, a suburb of Wa in the Upper West Region.

The fire is said to have started in one of the rooms and quickly spread to three other rooms.

The Ghana National Fire Service said it brought the fire under control within few minutes on arrival at the scene.

The Municipal office of the Ghana National Fire Service said it picked up information about the fire outbreak around 10:58AM.

Within few minutes personnel were dispatched to the scene with fire tender to quench the fire.

The Regional office of the service also brought in another fire tender to the support the operation.

Out of the thirteen rooms, four were badly affected. An eye witness Mr Osman Khalid told GBC Radio how he detected the fire.

The Wa Municipal Fire Commander, Divisional Fire Officer Eugene Asa-gyekye said though the personnel have been able to bring the fire under control some personal property have been destroyed.

He said the Command will investigate the cause of the fire.

The land lord Alhaji Ibrahim Mahama said he has not insured the house and could not immediate ascertain the cost of the damage to his property.

At the time of the fire outbreak all occupants of the affected rooms had gone out. According to GNFS no casualty was recorded.
