The Food Research Institute of the Council for Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) has been praised for its role in addressing post-harvest loses, shortening time for some staples preparations and promoting food safety to meet international standards.
At its open day in commemoration of the 60th anniversary of the Council, the Institute was however asked to make itself visible to the public, to address the perception that its research are kept on files.
