Ghana let a two-goal lead slip as the Black Stars Futsal team were held to a 6–6 draw by Zambia in the first leg of their final qualifier for the 2026 Africa Futsal Cup of Nations. The match was played on Tuesday, Feb. 3, 2026 at the University of Cape Coast Sports Hall.
Ghana looked on course for victory after going two goals up. But Zambia scored twice to force a draw and keep the tie wide open.
The result means qualification will be decided in the second leg in Lusaka on February 8.
The match produced 12 goals in a fast and open contest, with both teams creating chances at both ends of the court.
Ghana will now need a win or a high-scoring draw in Zambia to secure a place at the continental finals.

The 2026 Futsal AFCON will also serve as Africa’s qualification route to the FIFA Futsal World Cup.
Ghana last played at the continental futsal championship in 2016 and is aiming to return after missing recent editions.
