The National Development Planning Commission (NDPC) and KPMG have solidified their partnership through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed on June 24, 2025, in Accra.
This collaboration aims to enhance public-private sector cooperation in planning, implementing, and monitoring Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Key focus areas include thought leadership, resource mobilization, local economic development, and capacity building.
NDPC Board Chairman, Dr. Nii Moi Thompson, hailed the alliance as a significant milestone, leveraging KPMG’s expertise to drive evidence-based decision-making and accelerate SDG progress.
Dr. Nii Moi Thompson said the MoU’s focus on capacity building and SDG attainment inspires confidence in delivering transformative outcomes for Ghana.
A key aspect of this capacity building is training NDPC staff to analyze financial reports of companies listed on the Ghana Stock Exchange, enabling informed assessments of state-owned and private enterprises.

This expertise will empower the Commission to provide well-informed recommendations to the President on thriving sectors and those needing intervention.
Dr. Thompson was enthusiastic for the partnership, believing it will yield mutual benefits for both NDPC and KPMG.
Head of Advisory at KPMG, Kwame Sarpong Barnieh, welcomed the partnership, reaffirming KPMG’s commitment to Ghana’s inclusive and sustainable development. He noted that the MoU aligns with KPMG’s mission to contribute meaningfully to national development, commending NDPC for embracing the collaboration, which will amplify KPMG’s impact in driving Ghana’s progress.
