An aspiring General Secretary of the Ghana Journalists Association, GJA, David Kwasi Agyemang has reiterated his commitment to break the difficulty in forming a quorum to have an Annual General Meeting when voted for to become substantive General Secretary of the Association.
He noted that he will do this by touching base with the members in the various regions and also develop a common platform for all members of the Association.
This, he said, will help strengthen the base of the Association and make it more vibrant from the chapters, through the regions to the national level.
Speaking with the members of the Association in the Eastern Region to seek for their votes in the upcoming elections, Mr. Agyemang noted that when given the opportunity to serve as the General Secretary of the Association, he will help seek for funding to aid in the regular training of media practitioners in ethical journalism to sensitize the media landscape in the country.
Mr. Agyemang also urged journalists to pursue academic and professional trainings adding that the Association can collaborate with academic institutions such as University of Media, Arts and Communication, UniMAC-IJ to offer academic training to journalists who have no academic qualifications. As this will help sharpen their skills in the field academically and professionally.
