Following last Saturday’s torrential rain in most part of the Asuogyaman District of the Eastern Region, a mudslide occurred on the Akosombo – Adjena Dorno – Gyakiti road as rocks poured on the portion of the road.
Though the country is yet to experience rain fall this year, the rate at which the mudslide took place calls for measures to be taken at the mountains slopes.
At Akosombo–Combine, gutters over flown its banks by destroying saw mill manufacturing shop where several sawn boards, trucks were carried away.
Deep gutters were chocked with all kinds of waste materials dumped into the gutters thus making the gutters full to cause havoc into some shops and houses.
Meanwhile, the Asuogyaman District Assembly together with Engineers have inspected extent of damage caused on Adjena and Sarpor marketing Centre of the District.
