The National Disaster Management Organization (NADMO) has reacted to speculations that the Vice President donated expired oil to the Northern, Upper East and Upper West Regions in his recent tour of the affected areas of the recent floods.

A statement by the organisation stated emphatically that no such thing happened in the Upper East and Northern Regions.

It said all items distributed in the three Regions of the North were not purchased by the Vice President`s office but were all supplied from NADMO’s warehouse.

However, after the exercise NADMO’s attention was drawn to the unintended addition of six expired boxes of oil to the stock that was distributed in only two places in the Upper West Region by the stores manager in that region.

The Regional stores took stock of items since the beginning of the year and had recorded some expired items on 28th of August, 2018 out of which six boxes of such expired oil unfortunately found their way into the stock of items that were distributed in the Upper West Region due to the haste with which the items were assembled in response to the emergency in the region.

NADMO says it fully takes responsibility for the said mistake and assures the public that no such incident will recur.
