The National Executives of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), along with Members of the Minority Caucus in Parliament, have paid a condolence visit to the family of the late Ghanaian music legend Charles Kojo Fosu, popularly known as Daddy Lumba.

The visit follows the passing of the veteran highlife musician on Saturday, July 26, 2025. Daddy Lumba, aged 60, was widely regarded as one of Ghana’s most influential and celebrated musicians, with a career spanning over three decades and a legacy that helped shape the country’s highlife music genre.

During the visit, both the NPP leadership and the Minority MPs signed the book of condolence opened at the late musician’s residence. The book has also been made available to the general public to pay their last respects to the icon.

Minority Leader Alexander Afenyo-Markin paid tribute to the late musician, calling him “a cultural pillar who used music to bring hope, love, and national identity to countless Ghanaians.”

The family expressed gratitude for the show of support from both political sides, acknowledging Daddy Lumba’s lasting impact on Ghanaian society and culture.

Funeral arrangements are yet to be officially announced. Meanwhile, fans, dignitaries, and institutions continue to visit his residence to sign the book of condolence and honor his memory.
