The Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, has arrived in Accra to present a comprehensive report on the Bawku peace mediation process to President John Dramani Mahama today, December 16, as part of ongoing efforts to restore lasting stability in the area.
The planned meeting is set to take place at the Jubilee House.

President Mahama earlier in 2025, tasked the Asantehene with leading mediation efforts to address the protracted chieftaincy dispute that has affected the Bawku municipality for several decades.
The mediation began in April, with Otumfuo engaging separately with leaders and representatives of the opposing sides as a preliminary step towards dialogue and confidence-building.
After a short suspension, the talks resumed in May 2025 and have since contributed to a reduction in tensions, resulting in relative calm in the area.
