The Ghana Independent Broadcasters Association (GIBA) has appealed to the National Communications Authority (NCA) to tamper justice with mercy and restore the operations of private stations that have been closed down over regulatory breaches.

President of GIBA, Andrew Danso Ahenkora, said the Association being the mouthpiece of private broadcasters has initiated series of actions through the National Media Commission and other relevant stakeholders to get the NCA to bring back on air the affected stations but to no avail.

He said since some of those FM stations have taken the steps to renew their licenses, it is incumbent on the NCA now to show clemency.

Mr. Ahenkorah denied assertions that the Association backed down after succeeding in shooting down the Content Regulation by the NMC.
