The Supreme Court has ordered interested parties in a suit filed by the Attorney-General to have the Court quash an interim injunction granted by the Ho High Court restraining the EC from Gazetting John Peter Amewu as MP-Elect forHohoe.

They are to file their statements of case by 12noon tomorrow. This is pending the hearing of the matter on Monday the 4th of next month. The A-G should also file its response by close of day tomorrow.

When the case was called, lawyer for the interested parties Tsatsu Tsikata told the court that although the application before the court was an expert motion he is there to represent the interested parties, Professor Margaret Kweku the NDC parliamentary candidate for the Hohoe Constituency and others.

He urged that the court should hear him since whatever decision the court would arrive at will affect the interested parties.

Deputy Attorney-General, Godfred Yeboah Dame however argued that the High court erred when it  granted the injunction and wants the Supreme Court to set it aside.

The court yesterday granted Mr. Dame’s request to have an earlier hearing to ensure the matter is determined before the 7th of next month.
