There is uneasy calm at Old Asokwa in the newly created Asokwa Municipality of Ashanti as residents are asking management of Logging and Lumber Company, the largest timber processing firm to either demolish its concrete fence wall around the town or redesign it.
Officials of the company however insist they have not breached any law in constructing the wall as it is meant to protect their interest against encroachment by residents.
GBC’s Nicholas Osei-Wusu reports that the Asokwa Municipal Assembly has sued the company for environmental breaches.
