President John Dramani Mahama has assured the people of the Ashanti Region that all major development projects that have been left uncompleted in the region will be continued and completed, no matter which government started them.
Speaking during a ‘Thank You Tour’ to the region, Mr. Mahama emphasized that his leadership is focused on progress and continuity, not politics.
“We shall continue and complete them. It doesn’t matter who started the projects,” he said. “We are a government of continuity and results.”
He mentioned that the Kejetia Market Phase Two project is one of the key projects he is committed to finishing.
“Before coming here, I visited the market and spoke to the contractors. We will speed up work, and by the grace of God, next year we will return with Otumfuo Osei Tutu II to commission it,” he added.
President Mahama also listed other major projects his administration plans to complete under his “Big Push” infrastructure agenda. These include the Suame Interchange, Krofrom Market, Mamponteng Market, Afari Military Hospital, and the Seiwa Regional Hospital.
He further promised to complete the maternity and children’s block at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital, rehabilitate the Baba Yara Sports Stadium, and complete the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) Medical Centre.
