The Minister of Lands and Natural Resources, Samuel Abu Jinapor, has charged the Western Regional Security Council, REGSEC to deal with all persons involved in illegal mining irrespective of political affiliation or position.
Mr. Jinapor who is touring the region said government will ensure that galamsey is a thing of the past.
He announced that the Security Council in the Western region has confiscated about 16 excavators from illegal miners and that the exercise to seize illegal mining equipment will continue.
He charged all Regional Ministers and DCEs to lead in the fight against galamsey.
